Man killed in hit-and-run in St George

Police are investigating a fatal collision in St George on Saturday night that claimed the life of a man.

According to police, officers at District ‘B’ Station received a report around 11:30 p.m. of a body along Watts Village Road. When a patrol arrived, they found the man lying on the roadway.

The Ambulance Service was called and personnel confirmed there were no signs of life. A medical doctor later pronounced the man dead at the scene.

Initial investigations indicate the victim was struck by a vehicle that did not stop. Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has information that could assist, to contact District ‘B’ Police Station at 437-4311, the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-8477, or Police Emergency at 211.

They are also urging the driver involved to come forward to District ‘B’ or any other police station.
