Several Barbadians will be in action on Thursday night as the 2025 edition of the Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) bowls off.

Jason Holder will lead the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots as they take on Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at Warner Park at 7pm.

Holder, the former West Indies captain, made the move from the Barbados Royals this year to lead the Patriots, who finished at the bottom of the table last year.

In his team he will also have other Bajans – all-rounders Kyle Mayers, and Dominic Drakes; and Leniko Boucher, the talented wicket-keeper/batsman.

On the Falcons side, they have three Bajans in the squad. These are all-rounders Justin Greaves and Shamar Springer and batsman Kevin Wickham. Greaves and Springer played for Falcons in their first season last year while Wickham made the move from Barbados Royals for this campaign.

The weather in Basseterre, St Kitts has been cloudy with rain on Thursday morning. It is expected to clear ahead of the nighttime match. The Leeward islands chain is on alert with the pending passage of Tropical Storm Erin, which has developed this week. (PS)
