Minister Of Housing, Lands and Maintenance Christopher Gibbs has pledged that urban communities will soon see greater access to affordable and dignified housing, as he outlined plans to accelerate partnerships with private developers.
Delivering remarks yesterday at Harvest Bible Chapel’s 8th Anniversary Service at Goodland Main Road, St Michael, Gibbs said his ministry was focused on ensuring that residents in Bridgetown and its surrounding districts could benefit from homes that were not only resilient but also designed with quality of life in mind.
“Being an MP in the urban area, it is not missed on me that a lot of our people need housing and they need affordable housing. They need resilient housing. But most importantly, they need dignified housing,” he stressed.
The Member of Parliament for St Michael West explained that upcoming housing projects would prioritise designs that catered to the comfort of families, with open spaces and energy-efficient layouts.
