Update: Police confirm identity of man fatally stabbed at Cave Hill

Police have confirmed that Nigel Gibbs, 75, of Cave Hill, St. Michael, was fatally stabbed on Sunday at Lower Bridge Gap, Cave Hill.

Initial investigations revealed that Gibbs was walking along a track when he was approached by another male who inflicted multiple stab wounds. Police were called to the scene and found him lifeless. A medical doctor attended and pronounced him dead.

A suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-8477, Police Emergency at 211, or the District A Police Station at 430-7242 or 430-7246.
