CARIFTA team departs for Grenada

There was a buzz of excitement at Grantley Adams International Airport today, Tuesday as the first group of Barbados’ CARIFTA team departed for Grenada ahead of the 53rd CARIFTA Games.

Coach Ramon Armstrong said the athletes are eager to compete at the Kirani James Stadium over the Easter weekend.

“Everyone is very excited. We have some first-timers, and they’re raring to go, and we have some returning athletes who are very excited to go again after a thrilling BSSAC,” he said.

The first group included 42 athletes, along with team managers and coaching staff, while a second group is set to depart tomorrow. (JC)
