Chefette Restaurants will be opening its 14th outlet in Barbados at Newton, Christ Church, adjacent to the Henry Forde Roundabout.
This was announced yesterday in a press statement by managing director Ryan Haloute.
He noted that construction of the multimilliondollar restaurant commenced last month and was scheduled to open in the summer of 2027 when Chefette will be celebrating its 55th anniversary.
11 000 square feet
“Chefette Newton consists of over 11 000 square feet of restaurant, drive-thru and playground situated on 80 000 square feet of land with facility for 70 car spaces, 114 indoor seats and 36 outdoor seating. The double MEGA three-storey playground will be the largest Chefette has on the island,” Haloute said, adding it would create employment for 50 people, taking Chefette’s total staff count to more than 1 100.
“Chefette has already begun contacting the neighbouring schools such as Christ Church Girls’ and St Bartholomew’s Primary schools and Deighton Griffith Secondary School to assist them through its strong community outreach focus. Chefette has always played a vital role in giving back to its local communities and this commitment continues even more now during these challenging economic times.
“Chefette is a Barbadian brand and we will continue to heavily support our local manufacturers and communities. We attribute all of our company’s success to the 1 100-plus staff we have, and their commitment and dedication to the company in addition to the loyal customers who continuously support us over the years,” he noted.
