Following a week of in-service planning for administrators and teachers, the 2026–2027 school year will officially begin for students on Monday, September 7.
According to the Ministry of Education Transformation, the new academic year will comprise 38 weeks of instruction.
The Michaelmas Term will span 14 weeks. During the term, teachers will observe a Professional Day on Friday, October 16.
Students will also have a mid-term break from Thursday, October 22, to Friday, October 23.
The term will end on Thursday, December 10, for students, and on Friday, December 11, for teachers.
The Hilary Term will begin on Monday, January 4, 2027, for teachers, with students returning on Tuesday, January 5, 2027.
Term II will run for 13 weeks of instruction, with a two-day mid-term break scheduled for Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19.
The term will end on Thursday, April 1, for students, and Friday, April 2, for teachers. The Easter holiday break will be from Monday, April 5, to Friday, April 16.
The final term of the academic year, known as the Trinity Term, will run for 11 weeks.
Teachers will resume duties on Monday, April 19, while students will return to the classroom on Tuesday, April 20.
On Thursday, May 20, teachers will observe a Professional Day, and students will observe a one-day midterm break on Friday, May 21.
The 2026-2027 school year will officially conclude on Thursday, July 1, for students, and Friday, July 2, for educators.
The summer holiday will be eight weeks, beginning on Monday, July 5.
