The Government of Barbados has officially released the design details for the national logo commemorating the country’s 60th anniversary of Independence and five years as a Republic. The milestone, being celebrated under the unifying theme “60 and 5,” culminates on November 30, 2026.
The anniversary emblem is designed to serve as a visual anchor for Barbados’ national identity, while emboldening citizens to confidently look towards future progress.
The anniversary logo integrates the two milestones, bringing the figures “60” and “5” together beneath a rising golden Trident, with the Pride of Barbados flower secured at its base, in the traditional national colours of ultramarine and gold.
Barbadians and members of the diaspora, are encouraged to utilise this logo, subject to the requirements of the National Emblems and National Anthem of Barbados (Regulation) Act (NENABA) (Cap. 300A). The logo will be prominently featured throughout national initiatives, including the “Leh We Paint Barbados” community beautification drive and the newly minted Barbados Diamond Anniversary Honour.
The unveiling of the logo follows Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley’s recent declaration of every Friday leading up to November 30 as “Barbados Day”. Citizens and members of the diaspora are urged to wear national colours (ultramarine, gold, and black) and display national pride to build momentum towards the Diamond Jubilee.
The public is reminded that under the National Emblems and National Anthem of Barbados (Regulation) Act (Cap. 300A), manufacturing or selling merchandise featuring Barbadian national emblems requires an official government licence and strict adherence to national copyright laws. National emblems include the Broken Trident, the Coat of Arms, the National Flag, the National Flower (Pride of Barbados), and the national colours when used together. (PR)
