Two excellent table tennis players and one enduring rivalry.
On Thursday night, it was Mark Dowell who wrote another chapter in his book of success as he defeated Trevor Farley in the finals of the Classified Championships at the Table Tennis Centre, Nursery Drive, The City.
The right hander, who represents Scouters in the club championship, won a gripping contest 4-1 to capture his fourteenth title and continue his more than decade-long dominance of the local tables.
When the talented national player won the first game at five (11-5), it appeared that he would cruise to his third victory over Farley this season having beaten the former Caribbean champion in both rounds of the club championship.
