Former Olympian Edward “Yogi Bear” Neblett wants to bring back a cherished Boxing Day tradition by staging a professional boxing card on December 26, with fighters from Barbados, Guyana and Canada.
The promoter and former international boxer said plans are progressing for what he hopes will be another significant step in the sport’s local revival.
“We’ve got a card planned with fighters coming in from overseas. I haven’t confirmed all the countries yet, but Guyana and Canada are definitely involved, along with Barbados,” Neblett told Sun Sport.
Organisers are also exploring a special exhibition involving a world champion.
