Roach defends decision to bowl first

WEST INDIES fast bowler Kemar Roach has poured cold water on the critics’ theory that they should’ve batted first on winning the toss on yesterday’s opening of the first cricket Test against England at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

England took full advantage of the Windies bowlers, recovering from at 34 for three to end on 341 for five.

But Roach, who picked up two wickets blamed the position on how he and his colleagues delivered after lunch rather than the original plan to put England under early pressure.
