IF THE CARIFTA PERFORMANCE wasn’t loud enough already then Andrew Kirby made sure the message is being sent.

The Barbados Swimming Association president is out on the campaign trail, having suggested his sport deserves more financial support from the local authorities following this weekend’s near historic showing at the regional games.

A visibly upbeat Kirby made the call just moments after the home team wrapped up a memorable 52-medal performance over the four-day meet at the Aquatic Centre.

“I think this changes the perspective for the rest of Barbados because we’ve shown we are a force to be reckoned with in the water,” said Kirby.
