SOME OF THE WORST BEHAVED CHILDREN in Barbados come from a privileged background.

This was revealed by Chief Probation Officer Dorita Lovell, who said Barbadians were fooling themselves if they thought that only children from the lower socio-economic backgrounds were misbehaving.

“The worst behaved children are the children . . . who should know better and from the higher echelons. Because they are combative, they speak in terms of a sense of entitlement and that’s the kind of behaviour. But the persons from the lower socio-economic background, they just act out bad behaviour. So there is a difference,” she said.

Lovell was speaking to the DAILY NATION after yesterday’s Press conference by the Ministry of Home Affairs to announce the upcoming National Conference On Juvenile Justice.
