Chelsea official lauds young ballers

THE SENIOR international football development officer of english Premier League leaders, Chelsea, David Monk has lauded the standard of youth football in Barbados.

Monk, who was here to conduct the first of the nine clinics across the region for the Digicel Academy, said his job in selecting the best players on show was made tougher by the skill level of the footballers.

“I am very impressed with the standard of football exhibited by the youngsters as well as with the enthusiasm they displayed over the two days,” Monk said while adressing the 30 young footballers in the clubhouse of the KickStart football club in Wildey last Thursday.
