Householders enjoying cuts in power bills

PENSIONER PEARL SMITH’S electricity bill for April is $57; for March it was $59, and in February it was $52.

Between last August and December, her bills hovered around $100.

“The drop in [world] oil prices has really made a difference. You’re saving a good $40-something every month – that is really good,” said the octogenarian.

Householders are paying less for electricity as reflected in a cut in the Fuel Clause Adjustment (FCA) charges. (SP)
