THIS YEAR’S National Primary Schools Athletic Championships has unearthed a new track star.

Sharon Primary’s Savion Hoyte won the hearts of spectators during yesterday’s semi-finals when he scorched the National Stadium track in a sizzling 59.96 seconds to win his Under-13 Boys’ 400 metres heat, just outside Mario Burke’s 2008 record time of 58.75 seconds.

Here, Hoyte speeding to victory in the 200 metres, leaving St Angela’s Kobe Hutson and the rest of the field in his wake. (EZS)
