BARBADIANS HAVE BEEN urged to stop digging their graves with their forks.
Dame Billie Miller, the vice-president of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons, made the call as officials from BARP, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados and the Barbados Diabetes Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Maria Holder Diabetes Centre for the Caribbean yesterday.
The MOU seeks to foster partnerships with civil society organisations in the fight against non-communicable diseases (NCDs); to promote greater public education and awareness of the management and prevention of NCDs and to work closely with the Barbados Diabetes Foundation, the Heart and Stroke Foundation and other organisations to sensitise Barbadians, especially those who are members of BARP, about the management programme in the screening and monitoring of NCDs.
