Johnson defends VOB programme

VOB EVERYWHERE is neither a carbon copy nor a reaction to CBC’s popular Q In The Community.

Responding to what some people were saying about the open-air programme, which features several segments of Starcom Network’s programming line-up being outside community broadcasts, Brass Tacks producer Dennis Johnson said the concept of VOB Everywhere long preceded Q In The Community.

“VOB has been a community-based station for the longest while as exampled by the Road Runner show, which ended for some reason.

“I’ve always felt we had to find ways and means to get back into the community after the demise of Road Runner and this is an extension of that show, which had been in place long before there was a Q in any community,” he said. (CA)
