BARBADOS PRIDE managed to increase their scoring rate against Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the morning session on the second day of their fifth round WICB Professional Cricket League match today.
After a pedestrian first day in which the home team scored 182 for four off 90 overs, they progressed to 284 for five at Kensington Oval.
It meant that they scored 102 runs in losing one wicket in the pre-lunch session.
The tempo was picked up in the second hour during an unbroken sixth wicket partnership of 83 between Shane Dowrich and Carlos Brathwaite.
Dowich, who started the day on 28, is unbeaten on 71, while Brathwaite is on 35.
The diminutive Dowrich has struck 12 fours and faced 137 balls in 204 minutes at the crease, while the tall Brathwaite has hit three fours and a six off 45 balls.
They came together after Roston Chase, who resumed on 27, fell for 30 to end a fifth wicket stand of 74 with Dowrich. (HG)
