IT TURNED OUT to be a “terrifying” Thursday for two female employees of a Bridgetown store yesterday.
The two staffers of Melwani’s on Bridge Street were at their usual cash station when things literally came tumbling down just after 10 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into the store.
“We were sitting there cashing and we heard this big noise; look back [and] we saw just the head of the van into the store and we had to climb over the counter to get over,” Sherry-Ann Carrington said.
They narrowly escaped injury when a black sport utility vehicle, driven by Suzette Blair, crashed into the store’s display window a few feet from them after the driver apparently lost control while making the turn on to Bridge Street.
