A POLICE SPECIAL CONSTABLE, his brother and a St Michael businessman will appear in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court today on drugs charges, following a weekend operation which involved the questioning of a number of police officers.
Special Constable Jimmy Thorne, 37, of Coach Hill, St John; his brother, 32-year-old Jamal Andre Thorne, of Cherry Grove, St John and Ross Ashton, 37, of Rosemont, Deacons Road, St Michael have all been charged.
Jimmy Thorne is facing four charges, including possession of marijuana, trafficking and intent to supply while Jamal Thorne is accused of six-drug related offences.
Ashton is facing one drug charge relating to acts preparatory for the purpose of trafficking.
The arrests were made after police reportedly intercepted a vehicle in which the Thorne brothers were travelling, along Bay Street, St Michael. (TS)
