CLOSURE MUST BE seen to be happening fast.
That is the main message the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) says it will be seeking to send when retrenched workers from the National Conservation Commission (NCC) take to the streets at 9 a.m. today, moving off from Queen’s Park in The City.
Despite meeting for more than 90 minutes with Minister of Labour Senator Dr Esther Byer at her Warrens, St Michael offices yesterday, NUPW president Walter Maloney said the march would proceed as scheduled.
“I don’t want anybody to think that it has something to do with some disrespect to the minister . . . . There [are] two different issues,” Maloney stressed, adding that the march was not on yesterday’s agenda.
