Teen charged following fatal accident

POLICE HAVE FORMALLY charged 18-year-old Darren Niles of Cottage Heights, St George with the offence of causing death by dangerous driving in relation to the death of Clyde Small.

Niles was driving a motor vehicle on Valley Road, St  George on December 01, 2014 about 1:10 a.m., when he became involved in a collision with Small who was a pedestrian at the time. Small died at the scene.

Niles appeared at the District ‘B’ Magistrates’ Court on January 5, 2015 and was granted bail in the sum of $25 000 with one surety.

He will return to court on April 14, 2015. (PR/NB)
