While advertising publicly for a manager for the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA), Government has gone ahead and appointed someone to the post for the next year.

Very reliable sources told the DAILY NATION that at its last meeting before Christmas, on December 18, Cabinet approved the appointment of Rosalind Knight as SSA manager “for a period of one year with effect from January 1, 2015”.

Knight, the substantive financial controller at the SSA, has been acting as manager for more than a year since Stanton Alleyne, who acted as manager for almost a decade, went on pre-retirement leave.

Only on Sunday the SSA published a newspaper advertisement for a manager, listing the purpose of the position as “to provide leadership and technical expertise in developing and implementing programmes and services related to solid waste management”. (RRM)
