TODAY’S FEATURE RACE at the historic Garrison Savannah is all about speed.

It is the Trevor Gale Memorial Handicap for horses rated 95-75 and those rated 74 and below over 1 100 metres (at the time of entry).

However, when the dust settles, George Devere Davis’ Joshua, who is in excellent form having won four of his recent six appearances and one of the fastest creoles around, could engineer his way into the winner’s enclosure.

Intrepid Dancer could have a say in the final outcome especially if the early speedsters capitulate in the closing stages. Since returning to the track after he was sidelined by injury, he has looked a refreshed and rejuvenated horse.

This is reflected in the race book against his name with a win and second place. Shouldering the top impost of 130 pounds should not prove a bother, having won recently when being one pound lighter. (LY)
