Cabinet shuffle coming

THE NEW YEAR seems set to open with some major disappointment for some members of the Freundel Stuart Cabinet and a heightened sense of intrigue among political pundits.

One member of that body, who asked not to be identified, yesterday confirmed that they had been informed by Stuart that he would be making changes to the Cabinet very early in 2015, but that he declined to say what those changes were likely to entail.

“Yes, I can confirm that he did indicate to us that he will be making changes, but everything else he is holding close to his chest,” the minister said.

Asked if he believed an announcement would come in Stuart’s New Year message, the Government official said he doubted it would since such events were usually preceded by a round of individual discussions with the people involved, and he did not expect such to take place during the holidays.
