THE BRANFORD TAITT POLYCLINIC is next in line for a major security upgrade. Chief Medical Officer Dr Kenneth George said he was pleased with the upgrades at the Winston Scott Polyclinic in Jemmotts Lane, St Michael, and the David Thompson Health and Social Services Complex in St John, so it was time for the next phase.

“It has been going well. We had chosen both the Winston Scott and David Thompson polyclinics as they are both going to be 24-hour operations. Another clinic we are working closely with is Branford Taitt,” he told the DAILY NATION in an interview.

George said the Branford Taitt Polyclinic on Black Rock Main Road, St Michael, was “ground zero” should violence “rear its ugly head” in the area, so upgrading security was a must. He added staff had already been made aware of the impending changes.

“We are constantly seeking out how to upgrade the security of our facilities. Right now the enhancements include surveillance, key entry doors, panic buttons and several other aspects of security,” he said. (CA)
