School shift

LESS THAN 24 hours after the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) issued a month-end ultimatum to the Ministry of Education, there is word of change at the embattled Alma Parris Secondary School.

The move will see the now substantive deputy principal at St Leonard’s Boys’ School, Bradston Clarke, being recalled to active duty, after being out of the classroom for seven years. He will replace the current deputy at Alma Parris, Captain Andrew Skeete, who is being reassigned to Graydon Sealy Secondary.

Reacting to the news, BUT president Pedro Shepherd said the issues at Alma Parris had nothing to do with Skeete, but with principal Valdez Francis and “the way he generally leads the school”.
