ANGLICAN PRIEST Reverend Angela Phillips today appealed to Barbadians to get back to the kind of uplifting and re-building activities in their communities that the late Gordon Walters fostered during his years as the island’s Chief Community Development Officer.
Walters died last week at age 92. Delivering the address at his funeral service at St Patrick’s Anglican Church, Phillips acknowledged the late St Patrick’s resident’s tireless work among communities across Barbados as the first Community Development Officer, a teacher for 30 years and an active member of the St Patrick’s community.
Walters is survived by his wife Bersdeen and children Arni who is a former Government minister, Diana, June and Kenneth. (GC)
