Artistic swimming making waves

The little-heralded sport of artistic swimming made a big splash at the CARIFTA Aquatics Championships with the Barbados team capturing eight medals.

Manager Simone Morris said the discipline fielded its largest contingent at this year’s CARIFTA.

“We have been doing it in Barbados for 20-plus years. For the first time ever, we had 15 competitors in artistic swimming. The sport is having a rebirth,” she said. (RG)
