It was a magical evening of candlelight, music and the Christmas spirit at this year’s edition of Carols By Candlelight.
Hundreds of patrons spread blankets or sat in folding chairs on the well-manicured lawns of Ilaro Court on Sunday night. Some also stood wherever they could find space to soak up the performances from some of Barbados’ talented artistes and children during the show, now in its 19th year.
And whether it was 11-year-old violinist Aren Spencer who played the popular Let It Go, the 40-strong violinists from the Suzuki Music (Barbados) group, the Mustardseed Kids, G-Syndicate, Biggie Irie, Alan Sheppard and his daughter Jasmine-Rose or Brass Soul with Tamara Marshall, Keisha Christian and Smokey Burke who joined them for the singing of Merry Christmas Baby, the audience enjoyed every minute of it.
When the candles were lit, it was easy to see that every available space was taken up by the patrons, some of whom came two hours before to secure a spot.
