18 months for cocaine

GUYANESE NATIONALS Rohit Singh and Nikita Allen have begun serving 18-month sentences for possession of cocaine.

Singh, 39 and 27-year-old Allen appeared in the Oistins Magistrates Court today to face joint charges of possession of one kilogramme of cocaine, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.

They pleaded to the charges and were fined $25 000 each forthwith on the charges of possession.  The fines were no paid. They were convicted, remanded and discharged on the other three charges.

Police had earlier executed a search warrant at Carib Blue Apartments, Dover, Christ Church where Allen was staying.

Police found Singh there at the time and also discovered 25 packages of cocaine.

Allen later passed 51 packages of cocaine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. (PR/SAT)
