In its efforts to raise funds for its many programmes, including international marketing and training for members, the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association (BHTA) is hosting a fundraising golf tournament this weekend.

The event tees off tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. at the Apes Hill Club and funds raised will also be used to support the Barbados culinary team, BHTA sensitization programmes and attendance at international trade shows among similar projects.

The association’s executive vice-president, Sue Springer, explained that over the years the BHTA had hosted several successful fundraising culinary events including Night of the Nineties, Evening of Elegance and the Gourmet Series featuring Gourmet Taste.

She said: “We wanted to continue our efforts but with a different event and what better way than with an activity in which many of our guests indulge while on the island.”

The tournament is open to both members and non-members of the association and will consist of 18 teams of four players, competing in a Texas Scramble format.

To register a team or take part in the tournament, interested persons can contact the BHTA at [email protected]. (PR)
