ATTORNEY GENERAL Adriel Brathwaite says people should not pay too much attention to Barbados slipping three places in the latest World Bank Doing Business rankings.
He said the drop from position number 103 to 106 out of 189 countries surveyed was “not the end of the world”.
He conceded, however, that Government was “actively working to transform how we do business”, understanding that it would not be able to plug the gap between its spending and revenue and stimulate growth in the economy if such challenges were not addressed.
Brathwaite was addressing the opening session of the annual conference of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. (TY)
