From The Archives: Wallace signs up

Dashing Barbadian batsman Philo Wallace has every reason to flash a big smile.

The newest West Indian recruit turned up at the West Indies Cricket Board of Control (WICBC) headquarters at Kensington Oval to sign his tour contract for the imminent one-day series in Pakistan and Australia.

The belligerent 21-year-old opening batsman has been chosen in a West Indies team of 15 for three one-day internationals against Pakistan in Pakistan later this month and the Benson & Hedges World Series Cup in Australia from December 1 to January 22.

Witnessing the signing are WICBC executive secretary Steve Camacho (right) and his assistant Andrew Sealy.
