Barbados’ No.1 is on another high.

World-rated tennis pro Darian King has himself a new career best ranking, having climbed 75 places to No. 377 when the ATP rankings were released this week.

The big jump was as a result of his title-winning performance in Romania, where the Bajan ace cruised to F11 Futures singles title without dropping a single set.

And this was directly after the talented 22-year-old King advanced to his first ever ATP Challenger quarter-final in New York last month following two other quarter-final appearances at lower level events in France and Holland.

King, whose previous best was No. 384 in August last year, is slated to contest two other Futures events before returning home to lead Barbados’ charge against Mexico in next month’s Davis Cup Group II final at the National Tennis Centre. (JM)
