WICB: Let’s talk

Concerned about the damage caused by the aborted tour of India, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) is seeking an audience with the aggrieved Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Hours after the BCCI announced it would consider legal action against the WICB and suspend bilateral series between the two Test-playing nations, the WICB outlined a four-point plan following an emergency directors’ meeting at the Accra Beach Hotel yesterday.

The regional body said it was embarrassed at the turn of events that led to the premature end of the tour last Friday, but expressed optimism that a solution could be found to repair the damage.

“We deliberated on all the matters. . . .  we’ve come up with a few positions that we are going to take forward,” WICB president Dave Cameron told reporters in brief remarks after the meeting. Just two questions from waiting journalists were allowed.
