Temporary road closure for UWI Carnival

The police have advised that on Saturday,April 6, there will be a temporary road closure to facilitate the staging of the annual UWI carnival. 

This closure will be between the hours of 1:00pm and 6:00pm and will include the following roads; University Hill, Frank Worrell Roundabout and the Spring Garden Highway.

The schedule and route for the event will be as follows: At 1:00pm the carnival will leave the Barbados Port Authority Building. It will travel along the Spring Garden Highway in a northern direction towards the Frank Worrell Roundabout. It will then proceed up University Hill and turn right onto the University Of The West Indies, Cave Hill Campus.

Uniformed Police officers will be on duty during this event and road users are asked to comply with all directions given. Motorists wishing to travel these areas during this period are however encouraged to seek alternative routes. (PR)
