Drugs, boat seized

POLICE SEIZED 171 pounds of cannabis and an 18-foot boat in the waters off Fitts Village, St James last night.

According to public relations officer Inspector David Welch, the pirogue was intercepted around 9:30 p.m. during an operation led by the Drug Squad and supported by the Barbados Coast Guard and the police Marine Unit.

No arrests were made and investigations are continuing. (PR/NB)
