As Government and companies continue to trim their workforces, one bank is receiving requests from Barbadians who have been placed on the breadline to discuss their debt.
Director of retail banking channels at CIBC FirstCaribbean, Michelle Whitelaw, said yesterday that the bank sees an influx of customers, both in person and online.
“Because of the climate we are in, we continue to have those conversations and we remain open to having those conversations,” said Whitelaw.
“When you are going through those types of challenges, I am sure the last place you would want to come is into the banking environment to have more stress. So for me, it eases the customer that way,” said Whitelaw, adding that the bank has 22 000 digital banking clients.
