When it comes to race walking, there is simply no stopping Rodney Blackman and Veta Batson.

The two seasoned walkers were victorious once again when the Warrens Run For Hope charity events were staged last Sunday from the starting point at One Accord Plaza.

Blackman won the men’s 5-K event in 28:32.93 minutes from the consistent Dudley Harewood (29:04.49) and Eon Mitchell (30:56.74).

Batson triumphed in 33:48.49, leaving Marlean Stewart (35:12.44) in her wake. Sandra Murray (35.43.68) was third.

Oein Josiah won his second consecutive men’s 10-K run, clocking 36.23.79 minutes to emphatically beat Jerome Blackett (39:58.01) and his father, Orin Josiah (41.32.46).

The unheralded Marlo Hunte was first among the women in 49:31.30 minutes. Amanda Maximilien (52:39.74) was second and Lidia Luther, a distant third in 58:12.01 minutes. (EZS)
