The?grieving parents of Mark Walton say they are awaiting information on his shooting death in the dying moments of Kadooment Day.
Yesterday, father Franklyn Walton, 66, and mother Cheryl, 48, were at her Free Hill, Black Rock, St Michael home contemplating their next move after the initial shock of their son’s death had worn off.
Police reported that Mark, 23, was sitting at a bus shed near his home in Fitts Village, St James around 11 p.m., when he was accosted by two men. One shot him and ran away from the scene, police said, while Walton ran in a southerly direction but collapsed and died shortly after.
Cheryl recalled that she was at home when one of her son’s friends knocked at her door around midnight and gave her the sad news. She went to Fitts Village where she broke down after seeing his body lying in the road.
Franklyn said he was at his St James home when a neighbour gave him the unexpected news.
