Kadooment Day: Station Hill to Bank Hall

Pulsating music, gyrating bodies and an amazing display of colour.
Grand Kadooment 2014 got underway much like in years past although the hype did not rally begin until Contact Band hit the road with people wildly “wukking” on each other and any convenient inanimate object.
From Station Hill to Bank Hall, Blue Box Cart, Baje International, Youth Explosion, Contact and Fantasy were among the early bands which passed.
Justin Poleon, the flag person in Youth Explosion, also caused quite a stir with his athletic and flexible movements.
Hundreds came out to watch the spectacle and took up every vantage point along the route, including the “cut rock” along Station Hill and the District A Police Station.
Some residents did not even leave their homes and seemed to be holding limes in the veranda, their doors thrown wide open.
One vendor who has been on this section of the route for 16 years said, sales were slow.
