Man shot by police

A man who was shot by Police was held at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after eluding capture at the scene.
Accord to a press release from the Police, around 3:55 p.m. yesterday, officers on mobile patrol in Wilkinson Road, Richmond, Black Rock, St Michael, encountered a man acting suspiciously.
Those officers “challenged” the man, who drew a gun and ran. With officers in pursuit, the man pointed a firearm at one of the officers who shot him.
The man turned and ran, escaping in 2nd Avenue Richmond. The surrounding areas were searched, but the man was not found.
Police were later informed of a man awaiting treatment for a gunshot wound at the hospital and he was apprehended. The injury is not life-threatening. (PR/SAT)
