THE BARBADOS TRANSPORT AUTHORITY is taking note of incidents involving public service vehicles (PSVs) which are being circulated on social media.
Chairman Ian Estwick told the NATION yesterday that they were investigating a video which surfaced last week showing a brawl at the Cheapside terminal which appeared to involve two operators.
In that video, two men were seen fighting, one armed with a wheel tool and the other a sword. The melee caused commuters to run out of a minibus as a man standing outside the van slashed at the driver with a cutlass. The driver in turn armed himself with the wheel tool and dashed out of the van. The two men then proceeded to fight with each other, even throwing stones, as some bystanders attempted to separate them.
“The altercation is actually being investigated,” Estwick said. “We have made some headway but it is too soon to say what action will be taken. We are working on identifying those involved and we will move to take action.” (MB)
