The incidence of pit bull attacks on humans has raised its ugly head again in Barbados with last weekend’s mauling of a Kingsland, Church family by a number of dogs that left a mother severely bitten and bruised.
It has resurrected calls for the banning of such animals and/or stiffer regulations and penalties for their owners.
In this week’s Big Interview, SUNDAY SUN Editor Bryan Walker spoke with head of the Animal Control Centre in Black Rock, St Michael, Curtis Thompson, about what they were doing to address the problem; about organized dog-fighting; the law; and what were his concerns about canine care in Barbados.
