THE?QUEEN ELIZABETH HOSPITAL (QEH) is raking in thousands more dollars from private patients and overseas referrals following the introduction of a new billing and payment system introduced last November.
Acting director of financial services of the QEH, Andrea Belle, yesterday told the SATURDAY?SUN that the hospital was now reaping huge benefits after implementing a new deposit policy for overseas referrals and private patients having elective surgery.
The hospital is now collecting 90 cents in every dollar billed, compared with 38 cents in every dollar prior to the introduction of the new system.
