The hospital is now collecting 90 cents in every dollar billed, compared with 38 cents in every dollar prior to the introduction of the new system.
Since the system was introduced, the hospital billed for $863 000 in private patient surgery care and has already collected $777 000, with the difference being mostly claims to be settled by insurance companies.
