WELCOME TO THE next generation of island pop/R&B artists. Introducing Angelique Sabrina – singer, songwriter, actress, dancer and model.
At only 14 years of age, she is turning heads in a way that hasn’t been seen since the early days of Rihanna.
Born in The Bahamas into a family with an extensive musical background, Angelique started studying piano, guitar, and drums while she was in kindergarten.
At age eight, she was first runner-up in the Little Miss Talented Bahamas competition where she played piano and sang her first original song. She was even recently selected winner of Sidney, Australia’s Top 5 Rising Star Countdown.
Her humility and work ethic make her a favourite in the studio, working with the likes of Grammy Award winners Rockwilder, Hennessy and The Youngboyz.
“Angelique Sabrina records quickly and on-point, like someone who has been doing this for a very long time. She’s the one. She’s going to be huge,” said Rockwilder. “You can also see her love for her craft is genuine and she is extremely comfortable with who she is as an artist.”
Her willingness to learn combined with a natural gift is enabling her to grow at a ridiculous pace.
Her first singles Pull Up and Stop Sign are set to be released soon with a power and diversity that should extend and be embraced easily by both top 40 and rhythmic radio.
The video to Pull Up was shot in Los Angeles under the direction of Skee TV and Fernando Cordero of Industrial Films.
Barbadian-born Shontelle is one of Anglique’s early fans.
“When I heard some of the music she was putting out, I said, ‘Oh my gosh, she is going to be the next big thing!’ I can’t wait to write with her,” she said.
“I grew up around this passion, love, and creativity for music. It has been passed on to me mentally and genetically,” said Angelique. (JS/PR)
