The BLP’s agenda

Images can create lasting impressions  and it is the basis of the Opposition’s  understanding of policy.
The Barbados Labour Party has spent the last four years in Opposition complaining about:
• Barrack’s Building and the outstanding action. The inherited debt was $50 million.
• Road works and the ongoing capital projects  
• Ministry of Public Works’ strategy to reduce traffic congestion
• Four Seasons outstanding start up project
• Queen Elizabeth Hospital and delivery  of health care
• National Housing Corporation’s outstanding high debt
• National Housing Corporation’s housing  units transfers
• National Housing Corporation’s starter home concept
• National Housing Corporation’s  rent-to-own concept
• Barbados National Oil Company’s  high inherited debt
• Dodds annual drain on foreign reserves  of over US$15 million
• Barbados Defence Force outstanding issue  of the long overdue and promised pensions  
• Alexandra School issue of 2002
• St Leonard’s School in completed auditorium
• Public servants accommodation in healthy work environment
• Public servants double digit increase  in pay in 2008
• Affordable land for low income people
• Expanded summer camp programmes
• Free bus fares for schoolchildren
• Barbados Tourism Authority’s success  at increased visitor arrivals
• Barbados Tourism Authority’s success  at attracting additional air lift.
There can be no doubt that this list will be thoroughly placed before the public  for their scrutiny.
The agenda of the Barbados Labour Party has been outlined above. We ask all readers to digest  the legitimacy of their actions and draw your  own conclusions about who has the interest  of this country at heart.
We will not be derailed from our mission  to ensure our country has be more  than an economy.
