SOME SAY it is “payback time” for a well known individual, a son of the soil, for his active participation and the support shown – in a losing cause – in a south riding a few months ago.
By all reports, the month after all was settled, he suffered a significant reduction in salary at the institution where he is employed, and recently has been sent back to his substantive post at which he is known to be more than competent.
Word has it that all is not over as yet, since the final blow in this cruel backlash is expected to be delivered soon.
Only women, please
IT IS now becoming crystal clear why a certain businessman has got rid of all the men who were working for him and is now hiring females, especially Guyanese and Jamaicans.
Being in the company of the fairer sex seems to energize this well known tradesman.
Unfortunately, his unsuspecting wife of many years doesn’t have a clue what is going on and his son, who works with him, is usually sent to different sites.
This obviously affords him the opportunity to spend several hours at night with his latest fling, taking her to parties and grocery shopping.
Friends who are aware of the situation are crying shame on this man from the north and are even planning to inform his wife about his sideline activities.
Talking out of turn
RUM SHOPS are usually the place for lots of talk and gossip but it seems that a certain woman was highly offended when her best friend/shopkeeper turned the tables on her.
Apparently, she was so disgusted that when she found out that the shopkeeper had talked her name that she turned up at the shop and did a number. It was probably an embarrassing situation since the popular St Michael locale is said to be a hang-out spot for several high-ranking officials including cops and government ministers.
People are saying that the shopkeeper deserved the tongue-lashing that she got from her slim, well dressed friend since she likes to be friendly with people, then talk their names behind their backs.
Fishy behaviour
PEOPLE ARE still talking about the fish vendor who created a royal stink in the fish market recently during a high level inspection.
The loud-mouthed woman allowed everyone to know that she knew certain people in high places and that she rolled with celebrities.
Other vendors who were snickering behind her back were saying that she should get one of her millionaire celebrity friends to buy her the entire fish market, but until then she should stop behaving as if she owned it and comply with the rules and regulations.
Fit of temper
WAS A certain influential man so angry that his mansion in the north had become flooded that he decided to fire everyone in his company?
Employees are wondering if this was the case because word has it that the prominent businessman was so mad at the mishap at his home that he immediately jetted off to his other mansion in another Caribbean island but not before instructing his human resources department to send out the letters.
If this is the case, it seems like a hot-headed move by a man who can obviously afford to buy anything his heart desires.
